Charlie Parr

Charlie Parr brings his deeply rooted blend of blues, folk, and traditional music to Jammin Java with Maisy Owen. The Duluth-based guitarist and songwriter draws on working-class life, folk history, and the musical legacy of artists such as Lead Belly and Woody Guthrie, combining resonator guitar with original songs shaped by stories of hardship, community, nature, and perseverance.

Parr has released 20 albums across more than two decades and is known for an extensive touring schedule, including appearances at Newport Folk Festival and Pickathon. His recent work includes the Smithsonian Folkways release *Last of the Better Days Ahead* (2021), *Little Sun* (2024), and *Rooming House* (2026), a socially conscious, story-driven album inspired by his own experiences and those of the people around him.
