Roald Dahl’s *Matilda The Musical* follows an exceptionally intelligent young girl whose psychokinetic powers and vivid imagination help her withstand cruel parents and the brutal headmistress Miss Trunchbull. As Matilda develops a friendship with her compassionate teacher, Miss Honey, her courage and cleverness give the schoolchildren hope and begin to transform their lives. The production features high-energy dance numbers, catchy songs, and a story celebrating childhood anarchy, imagination, and the power of a determined girl.

The musical is based on Roald Dahl’s book and was developed by the Royal Shakespeare Company. It has a book by Dennis Kelly and music and lyrics by Tim Minchin, and the production page notes that it has received 47 international awards.
