Liana Flores

Liana Flores brings her distinctive fusion of folk, bossa nova, and psych-pop to Union Stage on November 21, 2026, in a free show with support from Allie Sandt. Raised in rural Norfolk, Flores grew up surrounded by her Brazilian mother’s bossa nova records alongside British folk touchstones, and she first found an audience by posting showtune covers in the YouTube era. Her self-recorded songs, marked by harmonic guitar work and introspective lyrics, quietly gained traction until one track — “rises the moon” — was posted to TikTok without her knowledge and became a breakout hit, inspiring countless covers and hundreds of millions of streams. Her 2024 full-length debut, *Flower of the soul*, expanded her sound with polished production and a full band, drawing on sunshine pop, classic bossa nova, and psych folk, and she has since toured across the UK, Europe, the US, and Asia. Her most recent single, “So it goes,” channels the spirit of Burt Bacharach and Astrud Gilberto and reflects on the pace of city life since she moved to London. The evening at Union Stage offers a chance to hear her introspective yet warm songwriting in a waterfront Washington, DC setting.
