Liana Flores

Liana Flores performs at Union Stage with Allie Sandt. Flores’s sound brings together bossa nova guitar, intimate and often reflective songwriting, sunshine pop, and psychedelic folk. Her music gained broad attention after “rises the moon” became a viral hit, and her 2024 album *Flower of the soul* expanded her self-recorded approach into a polished, full-band production.

Flores grew up in rural Norfolk, where her Brazilian mother’s bossa nova records introduced her to music beyond the local and British influences around her. She began by building an online audience with show-tune covers before writing original songs in her late teens. “rises the moon,” uploaded to TikTok without her knowledge, ultimately received nearly a billion streams and inspired numerous cover versions. After signing with Verve Records, she released *Flower of the soul* and toured across the United Kingdom, Europe, the United States, and Asia. Her more recent song “So it goes” draws on classic bossa nova and reflects the experience of city life after her move to London.
