Embodying Sanskrit: Experiencing Yoga Through Language II
Discover the power of sound, breath, and awareness with celebrated yoga and meditation instructor Aparna Sadananda, PhD, in this immersive workshop that explores Sanskrit not merely as a language but as a living, embodied practice. Through gentle chair yoga, breathwork (pranayama), guided vocalization of the Sanskrit alphabet, and collective chanting of OM, participants will experience how Sanskrit’s carefully organized sounds engage the breath and vocal apparatus in distinct ways, offering insight into the tradition’s view of language as a tool for refining awareness. The workshop concludes with an exploration of nada brahma — the yogic understanding of sound as a fundamental organizing principle of existence. Open to all levels and abilities, this experiential workshop includes modifications and chair- or wall-supported options, making it accessible to anyone curious about the intersection of yoga, sound, and self-discovery. This is the second in a two‑part series; attendance at Part I (scheduled for June 25) is not required to have a meaningful experience in Part II.
