Mitr – Friends: A Collaborative Dance Performance

Mitr – Friends brings Kalanidhi Dance together with the Bijayini Satpathy Dance Collective for a collaborative presentation of Odissi and Kuchipudi. The performance explores the artistic relationship between these two classical Indian dance traditions, which developed in neighboring regions of India and share a long cultural history while retaining distinct identities.

The work is conceptualized and choreographed by Bijayini Satpathy, Kalanidhi Dance’s artist in residence for 2025–2026. After the performance, Satpathy and the participating artists will discuss the work and its creative process with the audience. Supporter- and Patron-level ticket holders are also invited to a private reception with the artists.
