Historic House Tours
The Historic House Tours at the Heurich House Museum offer visitors a chance to step back in time to 1894 and explore the Gilded Age mansion that was the home of brewer and immigrant Christian Heurich. The guided tour presents the perspectives of household staff, Heurich brewery workers, the craftspeople who built the house, the brewer himself, and his wife Amelia. After the tour, guests can enjoy Senate Beer—a historically accurate revival of the beer brand that ruled Washington, D.C., for 100 years—at the museum’s backyard biergarten. Advance registration is required, and all tours are guided; no unguided walk-ins are permitted.

When: Tours are available from February 1, 2026, through November 26, 2026. Availability varies; specific dates and times are listed on the booking page. Tours are offered rain or shine, though the biergarten is open dependent on weather.
Showtimes: Tours depart at the exact listed start time. Late arrivals will not be admitted.
Tickets: Pre-registration is mandatory; no walk-ins are accepted. As of April 9, 2026, tour tickets are $15. A Supporter Ticket is available for $20, with the additional $5 directly supporting preservation and research. A general ticket price of $15 reflects the cost increase that supports living wages for guides, preservation of interiors, and ongoing scholarly research. NARM members receive one complimentary ticket per calendar year (subject to availability) by emailing a photo of membership card to membership@heurichhouse.org and using the provided discount code; allow 48 hours for processing.
Age Restrictions: No children under 10 years of age are permitted on public tours.
Group Size: Each tour is limited to 10 people.
Accessibility: The museum is happy to assist with special accessibility accommodations. Guests should email tours@heurichhouse.org to request arrangements. Free tickets are available for those who need them—email tours@heurichhouse.org.
Cancellations and Refunds: Tours are non-refundable. Transfer requests may be submitted to tours@heurichhouse.org at least 72 hours prior to the original tour date. Tickets can only be transferred to a future date within 60 days of the original date, and only one transfer per ticket is allowed. If a guest cannot attend or reschedule within 60 days, the ticket is considered a donation. The museum may cancel or change tours due to unforeseen circumstances; guests will be notified and offered refunds or rebooking options.
Note: The biergarten availability is weather-dependent. School group tours are currently very limited; email tours@heurichhouse.org for inquiries. Private tours are not being offered at this time.
