CASARRUBIOS FOR PELED is a special concert presented by the Fairfax Symphony at George Mason University’s Center for the Arts, featuring cellist Amit Peled in the world premiere of Andrea Casarrubios’s Cello Concerto No. 2. The program also includes Bruch’s Kol Nidrei and Schubert’s Symphony No. 4, all under the baton of Music Director Christopher Zimmerman. The new concerto, written for and dedicated to Peled—a former student of Casarrubios at the Peabody Conservatory—promises expressive depth and soaring beauty in a contemporary voice. Peled will also perform Bruch’s Kol Nidrei, a cornerstone of the cello repertoire premiered in 1881.

When: Saturday, February 6, 2027 at 7:30pm, with a pre-concert talk at 6:30pm.
