Metamorphosis

Metamorphosis is a solo exhibition by Bran Cherie, on display at Vika Gallery of Contemporary Art from August 7 through September 4, 2026. The show uses the butterfly’s life cycle as a symbolic framework for exploring transition, resilience, and emotional well-being, drawing connections between the four stages of metamorphosis, the elements, the seasons, and the pillars of personal strength. In her artist statement, Cherie explains that the butterfly appears again and again in her work because change is one of the few universal truths of human experience. Rather than making the butterfly the main subject, she uses it as a visual language to examine growth, uncertainty, connection, loss, identity, and renewal, with each painting addressing a different facet of moving through an ever-changing life.
