Modern Alibi

Modern Alibi is a high-energy four-piece alt-rock band from Charlotte, North Carolina, founded by songwriter and musician Holden Scott. The group combines driving bass, contemporary drum patterns, vintage-toned guitars, and rhythmic vocals, with a style likened to Arctic Monkeys and twenty one pilots. Known for forceful live shows, the band arrives at Jammin Java with an expanding catalog and extensive recent performance history.

The lineup includes Scott on rhythm guitar and lead vocals, Josh King on bass, Christian Sturt on drums, and Carter Ritz on lead guitar. Modern Alibi released three singles in 2023, followed by its debut EP, *M/A Extended Play*, in March 2024. Its 12-track debut album, *American Radio*, came out in April 2025 and helped the band surpass 300,000 monthly Spotify listeners and 12 million total streams.

Modern Alibi has opened for Friday Pilots Club, the All-American Rejects, and iDKHow. The band has also appeared at the Lovin’ Life Festival and Charlotte Pride Festival, and headlined sold-out or nearly sold-out shows at several Charlotte venues. In December 2025, it played its first headlining shows in New York City, Philadelphia, and Washington, DC. The band has also been working on a second album planned for release in spring 2026.
