Car-O-Ween

Car-O-Ween is a Halloween concert at Pearl Street Warehouse featuring all-female and nonbinary-fronted artists from the local music scene. Costumes are strongly encouraged, and a costume contest will run throughout the night. The event is the first live show presented by local DC music blogger @carosplaylists, whose mission is to support emerging artists and build a welcoming music community. A portion of ticket proceeds will benefit Girl's Rock DC.

The lineup brings together Washington-area indie pop, alternative, and singer-songwriter acts. Historically Close Friends offers hook-driven indie pop shaped by sharp humor, sapphic joy, emotionally candid songwriting, and the close friendship of its five members. Baltimore artist Enslow combines indie pop, indie rock, electronic textures, and '70s-inspired songwriting, pairing soaring vocals and polished production with the energy of a full-band rock show. Bluebelt is a six-piece indie alternative band influenced by artists including Peach Pit, Geese, Blondshell, Big Thief, and Flipturn. Queer Vietnamese-American DMV singer-songwriter nina1am creates lush, layered soundscapes exploring identity, self-reflection, desire, nature, and the human condition.

Schedule: Doors open at 7:00 p.m. The show begins at 7:45 p.m. and is scheduled to run until 11:00 p.m.

Historically Close Friends: The Washington, D.C. five-piece writes emotionally direct, hook-filled indie pop about deep friendships, messy feelings, and fiercely supporting the people they love. The band’s collaborative writing process draws on the different perspectives of its members, and its music reflects their close-knit friendship.

Enslow: The Baltimore-based artist writes festival-ready indie pop with sharp songwriting, soaring vocals, shimmering pop, indie rock, electronic elements, and warm '70s songwriting influences. Enslow has been recognized as Baltimore Magazine’s Best Band in Baltimore and as a Top Shelf Artist in NPR’s 2026 Tiny Desk Contest. Her music has also appeared on NPR World Cafe and in regular rotation on 89.7 WTMD.

Bluebelt: Bluebelt is a six-member indie alternative band formed in early 2025 through high school and college friendships and connections in the DC music scene. Members are Eric Becker on keys, Ethan Frantz on guitar, Josh Mehr on drums, Holly Teeters on vocals, Brett Mundy on guitar, and West Donnelly on bass. Their debut single, “Sonar,” was released on Halloween 2025 and has accumulated nearly 10,000 Spotify plays. The group is known for energetic sets at festivals, intimate venues, and house shows.

nina1am: nina1am uses they/them pronouns and is a queer Vietnamese-American singer-songwriter from the DMV. Their music layers varied sonic influences and vocal techniques into atmospheric settings for stories and melodies, examining social identity, self-reflection, and desire.

Activities: Costumes are highly encouraged, and a costume contest will take place throughout the event. Historically Close Friends will also offer custom laser-engraved dog tags from Randy’s craft workshop.
