Car-O-Ween
Car-O-Ween brings a Halloween showcase of local, all-female and nonbinary-fronted artists to Pearl Street Warehouse. Costumes are strongly encouraged, and a costume contest will run throughout the night. The event is the first live show hosted by local DC music blogger @carosplaylists, whose platform focuses on championing emerging artists and building a welcoming music community. A portion of ticket proceeds will benefit Girl’s Rock DC.
The lineup features Washington, DC indie-pop five-piece Historically Close Friends; Baltimore indie-pop artist Enslow; six-piece DC indie-alternative band Bluebelt; and queer Vietnamese-American DMV singer-songwriter nina1am. Historically Close Friends combine hook-driven indie pop, sharp humor, sapphic joy, and emotionally direct songwriting, while Enslow blends indie rock, shimmering pop, electronic textures, and ’70s-inspired songwriting. Bluebelt draws on influences including Peach Pit, Geese, Blondshell, Big Thief, and Flipturn, and nina1am creates lush, layered soundscapes exploring identity, self-reflection, and desire.

Schedule: Doors open at 7:00 PM, with the show beginning at 7:45 PM and scheduled to run until 11:00 PM.

Historically Close Friends: The Washington, DC five-piece writes songs about close friendships, complicated feelings, and wholehearted support, with every member contributing to the collaborative songwriting process. The band’s sound pairs catchy indie-pop hooks with humor and emotional openness.
Enslow: The Baltimore-based artist combines soaring vocals and sharp songwriting with pop, indie rock, electronic textures, and warm ’70s songwriting influences. Her full-band performances have earned recognition from Baltimore Magazine, NPR’s 2026 Tiny Desk Contest, NPR World Cafe, and Baltimore radio station 89.7 WTMD.
Bluebelt: This six-piece indie-alternative band features Eric Becker on keys, Ethan Frantz on guitar, Josh Mehr on drums, Holly Teeters on vocals, Brett Mundy on guitar, and West Donnelly on bass. Formed through high school, college, and DC music-scene connections, the group released its debut single, “Sonar,” on Halloween 2025 and is known for energetic sets in festivals, venues, and house-show spaces.
nina1am: They/them is a queer Vietnamese-American singer-songwriter from the DMV whose layered music explores social identity, self-reflection, desire, nature, and the human condition.
