AFRICAN RHYTHMS ALUMNI QUINTET: RANDY WESTON CENTENNIAL

Led by members of the late NEA Jazz Master Randy Weston’s African Rhythms ensemble, this quintet—featuring alto saxophonist/flutist T.K. Blue, percussionist Neil Clarke, bassist Alex Blake, and other longtime collaborators—marks the centennial of Weston’s birth with a program drawn from his spiritually rooted, globally influenced compositions. The performance is part of the broader DC JazzFest at The Wharf, a two-day celebration of jazz along Washington’s Potomac River.
