Arts Barn Stage Adventures: The Hollow Stump

Arts Barn Stage Adventures presents *The Hollow Stump*, a gentle, sensory-friendly puppet-theatre story by Beech Tree Puppets. Seven very different animals seek warmth and shelter from winter weather inside a large hollow stump. As more animals arrive and the space becomes increasingly cramped, descriptive poems and songs reveal each creature’s personality while the animals learn the importance of sharing and community. The production is adapted from the traditional tale *The Mitten* and is designed especially for young children.

After the performance, children can take part in a hands-on activity in the Arts Barn Gallery, using scratch cards to create their own woodland creatures. The show is part of Arts Barn Stage Adventures, a children’s performing-arts series that combines live performances with opportunities to meet the artists and make art inspired by the presentation.
