THE DELTA KING'S BLUES
The world premiere of *The Delta King’s Blues* is a blues opera commissioned by IN Series, inspired by the legend of guitarist Robert Johnson. This Faustian story follows his bargain with the devil, trading his soul to master the blues. The production blends blues and classical instrumentation with an immersive juke-joint atmosphere, featuring a cast of leading national artists in a score by Damien Geter and libretto by Jarrod Lee.
When: December 2025, with performances on December 6, 7, 12, 13, and 14 at the Pop-Up Theater in Washington, DC, and on December 19, 20, and 21 at 2640 Space in Baltimore.
