Canadian Brass

Canadian Brass returns to George Mason University with “Making Spirits Bright,” a festive concert blending original arrangements with inventive interpretations of holiday favorites. The program includes “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” “Jingle Bell Rock,” and “Christmastime is Here.” Known for virtuosic playing, spontaneity, and humor, the ensemble has recorded more than 130 albums and developed a wide repertoire through transcriptions, arrangements, and commissions.

The performance is designed for audiences of all ages and includes a pre-performance conversation with members of Canadian Brass, offering additional insight before the concert.

When: Saturday, November 28, 2026

Showtime: 7:30 p.m.

Venue: Center for the Arts, Concert Hall, George Mason University’s Fairfax Campus

Tickets: $70, $60, or $45; prices include fees. Half-price tickets are available for youth through Grade 12.

Mason student tickets: A limited number of free tickets for Mason students will be available beginning two Tuesdays before the performance.

Run time: Approximately 110 minutes, including intermission

Lineup: Keith Dyrda, trombone and euphonium; Mikio Sasaki, trumpet; Joe Burgstaller, trumpet; Jeff Nelsen, French horn; and Chuck Daellenbach, tuba

Pre-performance discussion: Canadian Brass members will participate in a discussion moderated by Caroline Steiger, Director of Brass and Professor at the George Mason Dewberry School of Music. The discussion begins one hour before the performance.

Program: The performance program will be posted during the week of the event.
