George Mason Jazz Faculty
George Mason Jazz Faculty brings an evening of outstanding jazz to Blues Alley, celebrating the timeless music that has shaped America's rich musical heritage. The concert will feature beloved jazz standards alongside original compositions and arrangements, showcasing the artistry and versatility of George Mason University's distinguished faculty. In addition to the faculty performers, Jazz Combo I—one of the university’s premier student ensembles—will take the stage, representing the next generation of jazz artists with creativity, energy, and exceptional artistry. The faculty lineup includes Wade Beach (piano), Graham Breedlove (trumpet), Geoffrey Dean (piano), Aaron Eckert (trombone), John Kocur (saxophone), Kevin McDonald (drums), Xavier Perez (saxophone), Victor Provost (steel pan), Darden Purcell (voice), Shawn Purcell (guitar), and Ben Thomas (bass). The evening highlights the collaborative spirit of jazz, bringing together seasoned professionals and emerging young talent.
