A Day of Belonging
A Day of Belonging is the fourth annual community gathering presented by Mission Belonging in partnership with Strathmore, taking place at Rockwood Manor Retreats & Events in Potomac, Maryland. This year’s event carries the theme of Joy and is designed to bring together Veterans, Active Duty Military, their spouses and caregivers, and community members for a day of connection, creativity, and celebration. The day features professionally facilitated expressive arts workshops, along with performances and readings that showcase the work and talent of artists from the military and Veteran communities. Attendees are invited to connect authentically and explore their own voice through creative writing, improv, visual art, and music.
Workshops throughout the day include demonstrations, group discussions led by workshop facilitators, and time for participants to create and, if they wish, share their work in a low-pressure, positive feedback environment. The event is open to everyone ages 16 and older, and there is a $5 non-refundable registration fee. Donations are also accepted, with proceeds going toward offsetting travel costs for facilitators and Veteran participants.
