Cirque Kalabanté: WOW (World of Words)

Cirque Kalabanté’s *WOW (World of Words)* is an acrobatic performance about communication, cultural exchange, and unity across language barriers. The work brings ancestral African wisdom into conversation with contemporary movement through storytelling, songs, ritual, gesture, rhythm, and physical theater.

The performance begins with two groups separated by a symbolic boundary: one shares knowledge while the other listens and learns, initially encountering fear and resistance. As spoken language gives way to gesture, sound, and movement, ropes and the set become tools of communication. Double-Dutch skipping, bungee straps, and rope-based contortion shape the exchange, while three guiding figures—Trust, Respect, and Wisdom—lead the journey toward collective awakening and unity.
