Jazz Jams at Busboys and Poets

Jazz Jams at Busboys and Poets is a collaboration between Clarice Presents and Busboys and Poets featuring D.C. saxophonist Elijah Jamal Balbed and his band. The evening begins with a performance by Balbed’s band, followed by a community jam in which attendees can call a tune and join in with their own instruments.

Participation in the jam is optional, so guests may simply enjoy the performance. The event is presented as a general-admission gathering at the Hyattsville Busboys and Poets.

Showtimes: The band’s set and event begin at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets: Free; no tickets are required.

Format: A band performance followed by an open, community-wide jazz jam. Guests are invited to bring an instrument and call a tune, but joining the jam is not required.

Accessibility: Available services include wheelchair-accessible seating, size-inclusive seating, large-print programs, assisted-listening devices, adult and child-friendly sensory packs, and quiet spaces. ASL interpretation, audio description, and captioning may be available for select events or by request at least six weeks in advance.
