Hyattsville Figure Drawing Group Meetup

The Hyattsville Figure Drawing Group Meetup is a relaxed, informal drop-in session for artists of all experience levels. The group offers live-model drawing sessions, with clothed or costumed models for the Saturday meetings and nude models for the Tuesday meetings. No registration is required.

The Saturday session features a series of short poses ranging from 2 to 25 minutes, making it suitable for practicing quick studies and gesture drawing. Participants should bring their own art supplies; drawing boards and chairs are provided. Models may be masked, and photography is not permitted in order to protect their privacy.

Venue: Pyramid Atlantic Art Center, 4318 Gallatin Street, Hyattsville, MD 20781

Format: Drop-in figure drawing with a live clothed or costumed model and multiple short poses.

Ages: All ages are welcome for the Saturday clothed/costumed-model sessions. Tuesday nude-model sessions are restricted to ages 18 and older.

Tickets: $20 per session; $75 for a five-session punch card; $15 per session for Pyramid Atlantic members.

Registration: No registration is required.

Supplies: Bring your own art supplies. Drawing boards and chairs are provided.

Privacy: Photography is not allowed because of the need to protect the models’ privacy. Models may be masked.

Additional Schedule: The group also meets weekly on Tuesdays from 6:00–9:00 pm for nude-model sessions. Those sessions include several short warm-up poses followed by one sustained pose lasting for the remainder of the session.
