# An Evening in Bloom at Tudor Place’s Annual Garden Party. The gardens of Tudor Place were glowing Wednesday evening as Georgetown residents, preservationists and supporters gathered for the annual Spring Garden Party, one of the neighborhood’s most anticipated social traditions. Executive Director Mary-Frances Wain welcomed attendees who arrived in spring florals, wide-brimmed hats and pastel attire, mingling beneath white tents and among the historic estate’s grounds. The event celebrated Tudor Place’s continuing mission to preserve the Federal-era mansion and expand its educational and community programming. Braxton Moncure, a long-serving member of the Tudor Place Board of Trustees and dedicated patron of the decorative and textile arts. The evening featured cocktails, food and live music as attendees wandered through the gardens and reconnected with friends. Founded in 1805 and once home to descendants of Martha Washington, Tudor Place remains one of Georgetown’s architectural and cultural treasures. Wednesday’s celebration once again blended history, philanthropy and neighborhood charm, offering guests an elegant evening in one of Washington’s most storied gardens.

At its annual Spring Garden Party on Wednesday, May 20, Tudor Place Foundation Board of Trustees, along with event Co-Chairs LouLou Baker and Claire Wilder, invite guests to view the commemorative exhibition “Founding Fortunes: The Estate Sale of Martha Washington” while toasting the museum’s important contributions to the region’s cultural landscape. Now in its 34th year, Tudor Place’s Spring Garden Party is the institution’s largest fundraiser of the year, raising nearly 20% of Tudor Place’s annual operating revenue. Each year, Tudor Place’s Spring Garden Party honors a person and/or business who has demonstrated inspirational commitment to Tudor Place, Georgetown and the region’s cultural community.
