Hot Club of Baltimore - November Jazz Guitar Series
Hot Club of Baltimore brings Django Reinhardt–inspired manouche and Gypsy jazz to Blues Alley as part of the November Jazz Guitar Series. Led by guitarist Michael Joseph Harris, the ensemble draws on the Paris jazz sound of the 1930s and 1940s, combining classic Hot Jazz, French musette, and imaginative takes on swing standards.
The featured lineup includes Harris with bassist Will Ledbetter, guitarist Connor Holdridge, and pianist Brennen Ernst, along with additional special guests to be announced. The group’s repertoire centers on the music of Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli. Harris has performed at major jazz and Gypsy swing festivals and venues in the United States and Europe, toured with France’s Django Festival All Stars alongside Samson Schmitt, and had his Django arrangement featured on an international Hot Club Records compilation. The musicians also perform with Ultrafaux Ensemble, which focuses on original Gypsy jazz compositions.
