Fri, Oct 9, 2026at 7:30 PM
7750 Capital One Tower Road, Tysons, VA 22102
Price not available
Featuring: Resonance Improv Alliance

Dark & Stormy is an interactive, fully improvised murder mystery presented by Resonance Improv Alliance at The Vault at Capital One Hall. During the performance, the cast invents a brand-new crime, characters, clues, motives, and solution in real time, with only the killer knowing who is responsible. The evening combines dark, murderous comedy with audience participation and local improv performances.

Audience members can simply watch as armchair detectives or call out suggestions when prompted. The mystery is designed to feel like a live, improvised film, while the cast handles the drama, clues, murder, and investigation. The evening also includes signature cocktails and other drinks, with dinner available onsite beforehand.

When: Friday, October 9, 2026.

Showtime: The performance begins promptly at 7:30 p.m. Guests are encouraged to arrive between 6:30 and 7:00 p.m. Theater doors open at 7:00 p.m. for first-come, first-served seating, and the show is expected to finish at approximately 9:15 p.m.

Lineup: The program includes three sets by local improv comedians: an approximately 15-minute opening set, a roughly 20-minute montage by Just One Bed based on a single audience suggestion, and a 45- to 60-minute improvised murder mystery by Reston B███ Face.

Audience Participation: Performers may ask the audience for a random word, location, or other inspiration. Suggestions are called out from seats, and the cast selects ideas to incorporate into the story as clues, weapons, settings, or circumstances. Inappropriate, vulgar, defamatory, or divisive suggestions will be ignored; repeated vulgar suggestions may result in ejection without a refund.

Content and Ages: The event is recommended for ages 16 and older. Younger attendees should be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The mystery includes depictions of death and murder, along with adult themes involving motives, although the presentation is lighthearted.

Venue: The Vault at Capital One Hall, 7750 Capital One Tower Road, Tysons, Virginia 22102. The Vault has a separate entrance from the main hall; it is located on Capital One Tower Road just past the hall’s main entrance.

Tickets: Tickets are sold exclusively online through Ticketmaster. If tickets remain available, the day-of-show price is $30 beginning at 3:00 a.m. Eastern on October 9, 2026. Tickets are not sold for cash at the venue door, and purchases from other retailers may be inadmissible.

Ticket Policy: All sales are final and nonrefundable. Digital tickets may be transferred to another person through a Ticketmaster account.

Late Arrivals: Latecomers with valid tickets are welcome but will be seated at the discretion of the house manager. The walk-up box office closes at 8:00 p.m., 30 minutes after the performance begins; after that time, tickets cannot be purchased at the venue.

Food and Drinks: Guests can have dinner onsite before the performance. The Vault will offer signature Dark & Stormy cocktails, beer, wine, and nonalcoholic beverages for purchase during the evening.

Parking and Transportation: Parking costs $15.95 per vehicle and can be purchased through Ticketmaster. The venue is near the Silver Line’s McLean Metro Station.
