Chuchito Valdés - Cuban Jazz Series

Chuchito Valdés brings his Cuban Jazz Series performance to Blues Alley, drawing on the rich musical traditions of Cuba as well as American jazz and classical composition. The Havana-born pianist, arranger, composer, and bandleader comes from one of Cuba’s most distinguished musical families: he is the son of Chucho Valdés and the grandson of Bebo Valdés.

Valdés is known for his command of mambo, danzón, Cuban timba, and guaguancó. He has performed internationally at festivals, clubs, and concert halls, and his music reflects his enthusiasm for jazz pianists including Oscar Peterson, Herbie Hancock, and Chick Corea. His current project, *Reflections*, features original compositions and arrangements shaped by classical harmonic and structural ideas.
