P.E.E.
P.E.E. brings its reunion-era blend of rapid, melodic grind pop to Songbyrd Music House. The San Francisco band, whose name has sometimes been expanded to “Potentially Egregious Error,” is known for compact, intricate songs packed with unexpected turns and strong hooks. The bill also features gapyear, The Ritornello Form, and Punxsutawny.
Formed in 1993 by guitarists and vocalists Jim Stanley and Kelly Green, P.E.E. later added drummer Andee Connors and bassist Tiber Scheer. The group became part of the Bay Area DIY circuit, appearing alongside acts including Boys Life, Jimmy Eat World, Drive Like Jehu, Three Mile Pilot, Heavy Vegetable, Jawbreaker, and Track Star, while also opening for Cheap Trick, Modest Mouse, and Neutral Milk Hotel. Their debut album, *Now, More Charm and More Tender*, arrived in 1996, followed by the more layered *The Roaring Mechanism* in 1998.
After completing three U.S. tours, the band entered a hiatus in 1999. Interest returned decades later through a 2023 documentary and renewed attention to the band’s catalog. P.E.E. released its full catalog digitally in 2025, issued a remastered 30th-anniversary edition of its debut in February 2026, and released a vinyl and cassette collection from the early recording *i win me over.* in spring 2026. The group’s return began with the 2026 Noise Pop Festival and continued with reunion performances in the spring and early summer.
