Substrate Pres. Grace Dahl

Substrate returns for its eighth edition with Grace Dahl making her Transmission debut. Known for emotive, high-energy techno, Dahl pairs forceful percussion with immersive soundscapes, creating music that balances emotional depth with an infectious dance-floor drive.

Born in Budapest and raised partly in Spain before settling in Amsterdam, Dahl grew up around the European rave culture of the 1990s through her Hungarian father and Finnish mother. She began playing clubs in Amsterdam at 18 and later became a resident of the Vault Sessions series. Her performances have included Berghain, Awakenings, Boiler Room, and Stone Techno Festival.

Dahl began releasing music in 2018 through a Coincidence Records various-artists compilation, followed by her solo EP *Dark Side of Desire* on Khazad Records. She has since released through labels including Amelie Lens’s Exhale and Frenzy Recordings. In 2024, she founded Serial Disc Touchers, also known as SDT Recordings, whose roster includes Alec Dienaar, Julian Muller, François X, and Onyvaa.
