Maryland Manzar Dance Workshop

Bethia Thattil leads this South Indian southie/kuthu-style dance workshop as a representative of Maryland Manzar 4.0, a South Asian fusion dance team known for exploring the cultural richness of South Asia through innovative choreography and storytelling. The workshop is part of NextNOW Fest, the University of Maryland’s multi-day arts festival featuring performances and other creative experiences by artists from the campus and beyond. The festival welcomes both the UMD community and the general public.

Event Context: Part of NextNOW Fest 2026, The Clarice’s annual arts festival and a University of Maryland Arts for All initiative.

Participant Requirements: Participants must sign waivers. Shoes must be removed before entering the dance studio; cubbies outside the studios are available for storing shoes.

Accessibility: The Clarice offers wheelchair-accessible and size-inclusive seating, large-print programs, assisted-listening devices, adult and child-friendly sensory packs, and quiet spaces upon request. ASL interpretation, audio description, and captioning are available for select events or by request at least six weeks in advance.
