The Thrills

The Thrills bring a lively, roots-influenced rock ’n’ roll set to Hank Dietle’s Tavern, combining original songwriting with the energy and musicianship of four longtime fixtures of the DC-area music scene. Led by singer-songwriter David Kitchen, the band draws on the hard-driving spirit of classic American rock while keeping the performance sharp, soulful, and full of live-wire energy.

The lineup features multiple WAMMIE Award winners and decades of collective experience. Andy Rutherford contributes guitar, slide guitar, and vocals; Johnny Combs anchors the band on bass; and Brian Alpert handles drums and vocals. Their backgrounds include work with The Thrillbillys, Ruthie and the Wranglers, Little Pink, Evan Johns and the H-Bombs, Tex Rubinowitz, Pink and Black, Doc Scantlin and the Imperial Palms Orchestra, Cowboy Jazz, The Assassins, and touring with guitarist Danny Gatton.
