Diplomatie Culturelle – Recent projects by WHY

“Diplomatie Culturelle – Recent projects by WHY” is a lecture by Kulapat Yantrasast, founder and creative director of WHY Architecture, examining how museums, cities, landscapes, and architecture can create common ground in an increasingly divided world. Drawing on WHY’s work at the Louvre and other recent cultural projects internationally, Yantrasast will discuss how cultural spaces can cross borders, connect communities, and support shared civic life.

The talk will consider architecture as a setting that shelters and hosts artistic collaboration, allowing art forms such as painting, sculpture, and furniture to interact with one another and with the public.

Tickets: Free

Reservation: Every attendee must have a ticket issued in their own name and a government-issued photo ID with a matching name. Guests must present either a printed Eventbrite ticket or the ticket on a phone. Reservations and official identification are required for admission.

Security: Allow additional time for screening at the Embassy. Umbrellas, large bags, backpacks, animals, liquids, food, blunt objects, helmets, and other items considered dangerous are prohibited and may be confiscated.

Parking: La Maison Française has no on-site parking. Metered parking is available on Reservoir Road for $2.30 per hour, with a four-hour maximum until 10:00 p.m. Garage parking is available at Georgetown MedStar Health via Entrance 2 at 2800 Reservoir Road NW, at approximately $25 for up to three hours.

Photography: Registering indicates consent to be photographed or recorded and permits the organizers to use attendees’ image and likeness for promotional and archival purposes.
