Stand-Up Showcase

Stand-Up Showcase brings four comedians to the DC Improv for a night of live comedy in downtown Washington, DC. The lineup draws from the local and regional scene while showcasing performers with distinct perspectives, including observational humor, personal storytelling, cultural experiences, and witty Southern-inflected comedy.

The comics are Anthony Oakes, Joey Duffield, Abe Gatling, and Prince Arora. Shows typically run about 90 minutes and feature a range of comedic styles in an intimate club setting.

When: October 16–18

Showtimes: Friday at 7:30 p.m. and 9:45 p.m.; Saturday at 6:30 p.m. and 8:45 p.m.; Sunday at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets: $26.50 all-in, including service charges

Lineup: Anthony Oakes, Joey Duffield, Abe Gatling, and Prince Arora

Anthony Oakes: A District resident originally from North Carolina, Oakes performs clean but edgy comedy that combines Southern sensibility, intellect, wit, and sharp observations. His work has been featured in the Washington Blade.

Joey Duffield: A Washington, DC-based comedian whose act blends observations about everyday life with personal anecdotes.

Abe Gatling: A New York City native who has appeared on Comedy Central and at the New York Comedy Festival. He also performs throughout the country.

Prince Arora: A DC comedian who draws on his Indian heritage and American life, exploring culture shock at work, relationships, and the everyday experiences of an immigrant. He has performed around the DC comedy scene and at universities, and opened for Indian comedian Zakir Khan at Capital One Hall before an audience of 1,500. Arora was a finalist in the 2024 Comedy Kumite XL.
