STRANGE BOUTIQUE
Strange Boutique brings its ethereal, guitar-driven post-punk to Black Cat for a hometown show supporting its new album, *Let the Lonely Heart Sing*. The reunited Washington, DC band blends gothic atmosphere, angular punk energy, melodic textures, and a mystical sensibility.
Originally active from 1987 to 1993, Strange Boutique became a fixture of the DC club scene and developed a devoted following among the city’s goths, punks, misfits, and dreamers. The band later reunited for shows in 2004 and 2019. A viral resurgence of “Drown” introduced its expansive sound to a new generation, while the new album explores lost time, longing, wonder, and enduring hope through shimmering guitars, chorus-heavy bass, and Monica Richards’ distinctive vocals.
