Wolf's Every Monday Blues Show & Sit-In Jam
Wolf’s Every Monday Blues Show & Sit-In Jam is a weekly blues night at Hank Dietle’s Tavern, beginning with a featured set by a rotating host band and continuing with an open jam for musicians from the local scene, touring artists, and visitors. The event offers a chance to hear established performers alongside unexpected guests; past sit-in participants have included Guitar Shorty, Bill Kirchen, Eugene Hideaway Bridges, Jimmy Carpenter, Memphis Gold, Bruce Ewan, Bobby Radcliff, Pierre Beauregard, Johnny Sansome, Johnny Vidacovich, and Grammy nominees Tab Benoit and Steve Riley.
The opening band features a changing roster of prominent D.C.-area blues frontmen, supported by drummer Andy Hamburger and bassist Wolf Crescenze. After the host set, musicians who have signed up are invited to perform with the band, generally one or two players at a time, for the remainder of the evening.
