Improv for Poets with Magus Magnus and Manya Magnus

Improv for Poets with Magus Magnus and Manya Magnus is a Halloween workshop introducing improvisational games tailored to poets and writers. Magus and Manya Magnus will lead exercises intended to be freeing, enjoyable, and useful for developing poets’ theater and poetics-theater performances.

Manya Magnus has spent many years practicing improvisation and writing and performing in different forms. She is also an HIV-prevention epidemiologist and serves as a professor and chair of the Department of Epidemiology at George Washington University’s Milken Institute School of Public Health. Magus Magnus is developing “Killing Joke Theater,” inspired in part by improv classes he has taken with Manya since they became empty nesters. His latest book is titled *The Killing Joke*.
