Bassist Ben Williams, winner of the 2009 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Bass Competition, presents his socially conscious work *'Between Church & State, I am a Man,'* blending jazz with themes of civil rights. This performance takes place as part of the larger DC JazzFest at The Wharf over Labor Day weekend, with other festival acts also scheduled across multiple stages.
