"Emily," the new Conner & Smith Musical

“Emily” is a work-in-progress musical by composer Matt Conner and librettist and lyricist Stephen Gregory Smith, inspired by the writings of Emily Dickinson. Hosted by the Arts Club of Washington, the preview stars Broadway artist, singer, actor, and professor Susan Derry, accompanied by pianist Alex Tang.

The evening begins with a beer and wine open bar, followed by the musical presentation and a reception with the creators. The event is open to the public and takes place at the historic Monroe House.

Schedule: Beer and wine open bar at 6:30 PM; “Emily” at 7:00 PM; reception with the creators at 8:00 PM

Tickets: $30 for Arts Club members and $40 for non-members

Registration: Members must RSVP, with $30 charged to their account. Non-members may purchase tickets for $40. Guests must be registered, and tickets are non-refundable.

Premise: The musical is a new work in development inspired by the work of poet Emily Dickinson and written specifically for Susan Derry.
