Quicksand & Bane
Quicksand, the seminal post-hardcore band that emerged from the New York hardcore scene in 1990, will share a bill with the legendary hardcore act Bane at the 9:30 Club on Monday, August 31, 2026. The lineup also includes Hudson Valley–based Soul Blind, who blend heavy, pedal-drenched guitar work with influences ranging from hardcore to modern rock. Quicksand—guitarist/vocalist Walter Schreifels, drummer Alan Cage, and bassist Sergio Vega—helped define the post-hardcore sound with their groove-driven crunch on albums like *Slip* and *Manic Compression* and continue to evolve with their latest record, *Bring On The Psychics*, which bridges their nineties heaviness with newer experimentation. Soul Blind’s music channels the aggression of hardcore and the weight of bands like Crowbar and All Out War, filtered through a modern rock lens, creating anthems for the self-described “freaks” and “non-denominational subculture weirdos.”
