Cinema Art Bethesda: "The Blue Trail"
Cinema Art Bethesda presents Gabriel Mascaro’s award-winning Brazilian film *The Blue Trail* (*O Último Azul*), a near-future drama about an older woman who refuses to surrender her independence. After Brazil begins relocating people age 75 and older to isolated colonies so younger workers can concentrate on economic growth, 77-year-old Tereza escapes and travels down the Amazon. Her flight develops into a wider journey of freedom, companionship, desire, and new possibilities, with the river offering an alternative vision of the future. A discussion follows the screening, with complimentary bagels, coffee, and tea available.
