Pile O' Rocks w/ Bill Starks
Pile O’ Rocks and Bill Starks present an evening celebrating the music of Rockpile, Nick Lowe, Dave Edmunds, UK pub rock, and American roots rock and roll. The Washington, DC-based Pile O’ Rocks quartet specializes in this blend of energetic British pub rock and roots-oriented American rock.
Bill Starks joins the bill with his distinctive piano-driven style, combining rock and roll, honky-tonk, boogie-woogie, blues, and Americana. An award-winning songwriter and keyboard player, Starks is known for his work with Ruthie and the Wranglers, the NRBQ tribute band Me & the Boys, and BandHouse Gigs. His song “300 Miles from Memphis To New Orleans” received the Washington Area Music Awards’ Song of the Year honor, and he was named WAMA Songwriter of the Year in 2015. He has also released the solo albums *I See Trouble* and *Do You Hear Me Now?* on Azalea City Recordings.
