BIG BAD VOODOO DADDY

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy brings their high-energy neo-swing show to The Birchmere Music Hall on Thursday, June 18, 2026. The band marks its 33rd anniversary in April 2026 and continues its decades-long tradition of blending jazz, swing, and dixieland with a contemporary spirit. Co-founded by singer Scotty Morris and drummer Kurt Sodergren, the group was at the forefront of the swing revival in the 1990s, and their live performances remain legendary for their horn-infused sound and infectious energy.

Background: Big Bad Voodoo Daddy originated in Ventura, California in the early 1990s and gained national attention with their appearance in the 1996 film Swingers. They have sold over two million albums, performed over 3,000 live shows, and appeared in numerous films and television programs including The Wild, Despicable Me, Phineas & Ferb, Friends, Third Rock From The Sun, Ally McBeal, So You Think You Can Dance, Dancing With The Stars, Late Night With Conan O’Brien, NBC’s Christmas in Rockefeller Center, The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (seven appearances), and the Super Bowl XXXIII Halftime Show. The band has also performed with major symphony orchestras and for three U.S. Presidents.
