6950 Maple Street Northwest, Washington, DC
$0-10

Study Hall is a participatory salon for sharing and discussing the subjects people might have explored during informal time between classes. Participants can present an idea, question, personal interest, or something they learned, then invite the group into conversation. Expertise is not required, and presenting an open-ended prompt is encouraged.

The event also welcomes creative contributions in any medium, including visual, audio, written, or other projects. Discussions are intended to be open and exploratory, with presentations shifting into questions and group conversation as attendees respond.

When: Sunday, November 15, 2026

Showtimes: 11:00 AM–2:00 PM

Venue: Rhizome DC

Tickets: $0–10 sliding scale

Registration: Registration is available through the event page. Participants may also add themselves to the presentation agenda before the event.

Format: At the start of the event, attendees can sign up to present. Presentations have no fixed time limit and may continue until questions from the group lead into a question-and-answer discussion. Participants may also share artwork at the beginning, between presentations, or at the end.

Presentations: Topics may include anything participants might have discussed during free time between classes, including subjects they might have raised in a school cafeteria but not with a dean. Presenters do not need to be experts or have definitive answers.

Creative Work: Attendees may share visual, audible, written, or other creative work, including projects made for an allegedly easy elective.

Discussion Guidelines: Conversations follow Chatham House rules. Participants may use information shared at the event, but may not identify or disclose the affiliations of speakers or other participants.

Age Restriction: Not specified.
