A People’s Choir DC (SING-ALONG)

A People’s Choir DC is a casual, themed, participatory sing-along rather than a formal performance. Attendees sing together along with the original recordings, with lyrics displayed on music videos. Participants may stand, sit, dance, sing along, improvise if they do not know a song, or simply listen.

The evening’s theme will be announced later. Singing is open to everyone regardless of vocal ability, and the event uses song lyrics rather than sheet music. A People’s Choir DC is based on the original A People’s Choir in Portland, Oregon.

Showtimes: Doors open at 7:00 PM, with singing beginning around 7:30 PM.

Tickets: Free

Ages: 21 and over.

Venue: DC9 Nightclub, on the second floor.

Accessibility: The event is located up one flight of stairs. Contact the organizers with accessibility questions.

Logistics: The large sliding door partway toward the roof is expected to be open by approximately 7:10 PM. DC9’s buy-one-get-one-free happy hour runs from 5:00 to 7:00 PM for those who arrive early.
