Tambo and Bones is a time-traveling hip-hop fantasia by playwright Dave Harris that confronts the history and legacy of American racism. The story follows Tambo and Bones, two characters trapped in a minstrel show who struggle to distinguish reality from performance. Their plan to escape involves seeking fame, cashing in, and getting even, as the play wrestles with America's racist past and present and imagines a post-racial future. The production runs at Spooky Action Theater with a full slate of performances, though every performance and ticket tier is sold out.
