Die Spitz

Die Spitz headline an energetic punk- and metal-inflected rock show at 9:30 Club, with Faetooth appearing as the supporting act. The Austin quartet channels punk, hardcore, metal, grunge, and alternative rock into songs about passion, identity, friendship, political resistance, addiction, love, and personal freedom. Die Spitz consists of Ava Schrobilgen, Chloe De St. Aubin, Eleanor Livingston, and Kate Halter. The members, all Austin natives, formed the band in 2022 after long-standing friendships that reach back to preschool and middle school. They trade instruments, songwriting, and vocal responsibilities; Halter learned bass specifically to join the group. Their live performances are known for unruly, highly physical energy, including cartwheels, crowd-surfing, growled vocals, and climbing onto venue structures. The band has previously opened for OFF!, Amyl and the Sniffers, Viagra Boys, and Sleater-Kinney.

The set is expected to draw from songs such as “Pop Punk Anthem,” “Throw Yourself to the Sword,” “RIDING WITH MY GIRLS,” “Go Get Dressed,” “Voir Dire,” and “Punishers.” The page describes these tracks as ranging from punk and thrash to syrupy grunge and acoustic-driven rock, with subjects including obsession, empowerment, American globalism, and the pain of a failing relationship.
