Petworth PorchFest

Sat, May 30, 2026
Free

Petworth PorchFest is Washington DC's biggest PorchFest event, returning for its annual celebration on May 30, 2026. This volunteer-led community festival transforms the Petworth neighborhood into an outdoor music venue by inviting residents to host local bands and performers on their front porches, while neighbors and visitors alike enjoy live music from the sidewalks. The event was created in spring 2021 by a passionate group of Petworth residents inspired by similar PorchFest events across DC and the broader PorchFest movement — originally founded in Ithaca, NY in 2007 — and has since grown into a beloved neighborhood tradition, winning Washington City Paper's Best Neighborhood Festival award.

The festival's core mission is to encourage community gathering, support local artists and businesses, and inspire people through music. This year's lineup includes One Worship DMV, go-go band UCB, post-hardcore act Sonorosa, karaoke, and additional entertainment. Performances are spread across multiple porch stages throughout the neighborhood, and attendees can use the festival's interactive schedule, map, and PorchFinder tool (available on the event's website) to search performers, listen to previews, mark favorites, and create custom itineraries for the day. Local businesses along Upshur St NW and Georgia Ave NW are also participating with special deals, so attendees are encouraged to stop in and shop local.
