Jesse Welles

Jesse Welles brings his modern troubadour style to The Anthem, combining sharp, fearless songwriting with humor and social commentary. His music confronts inequality, injustice, war, corruption, and other divisions in contemporary life while retaining a strong sense of compassion and humanity. The performance supports his 2025 album, *Middle*, and features Hudson Freeman.

Raised in Ozark, Arkansas, Welles grew up immersed in classic artists including Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Joan Baez, and Woody Guthrie. He studied music theory, fronted the rock band Dead Indian, formed the band Welles after moving to Nashville, and toured extensively with acts such as Royal Blood, Highly Suspect, Greta Van Fleet, and Dead Sara. After returning to Arkansas, he began recording outdoor performances that attracted more than one million Instagram followers and led to sold-out headline tours. His recent work includes the albums *Hells Welles* and *Patchwork*, as well as songs such as “United Health,” “HORSES,” “WHEEL,” and “WHY DON’T YOU LOVE ME.”
