ChronoScape: Artistic Explorations of Time Travel
ChronoScape: Artistic Explorations of Time Travel is a curated visual arts exhibition at Del Ray Artisans Gallery that delves into humanity's enduring fascination with time travel, embracing both real and imagined journeys. The show invites artists to traverse the timelines of human experience, science fiction, memory, mythology, and the unknown, resulting in a diverse range of interpretations exploring who we are, where we’ve come from, and where we might be going. The opening reception, hosted on Friday, August 7 from 7 to 9 p.m., offers a chance to meet curator Suzan Ok Shumate and the exhibiting artists. The featured artwork shown in promotional materials is “Divergent Dan” by Ginny Loving.
When: The exhibit runs from August 7 through August 29, 2026. Regular gallery hours are Thursday 12–6 p.m., Friday 12–9 p.m., Saturday 12–6 p.m., and Sunday 12–6 p.m. The gallery is closed on August 2 and August 30.
Opening Reception: Friday, August 7, 2026, from 7 to 9 p.m., with thanks to MCD Mateos McDonald’s for their generous donation supporting the reception.
Programs: A series of creative programs are offered during the exhibit, all requiring advance registration. These include: Creative Book Club on Saturday, August 8, 10 a.m.–12 p.m.; Partners in Art on Monday, August 10, 2–4 p.m.; Radical Sewing Club-ALX on Saturday, August 15, 10 a.m.–12 p.m.; Live From Your Studio (members only, easy to join) on Sunday, August 16, 2–3:30 p.m.; Steampunk Jewelry Workshop on Saturday, August 16, 10 a.m.–12 p.m.; Life Drawing Session on Tuesdays, August 18 and August 25, 7–9 p.m.; and Nature Journaling Club on Saturday, August 29, 10 a.m.–12 p.m.
Tickets: The gallery is free and open to the public; no ticket price is listed.
