The Jayhawks: Celebrating 40 Years

The Jayhawks mark four decades of music with their Sanctuary Park Tour at Lincoln Theatre DC, joined by Minneapolis harmony duo The Cactus Blossoms. The Jayhawks’ upcoming album, *Sanctuary Park*, was made with producer Bob Ezrin and is scheduled for release in late summer 2026.

Formed in Minneapolis during the post-punk era, The Jayhawks helped shape the modern Americana movement by blending country, folk, soul, Britpop, and rock ’n’ roll. Their history includes more than 12 studio albums and three live releases, performances at festivals including Farm Aid, Primavera Sound, Pinkpop, and Wilco’s Sky Blue Sky, and collaborations or touring associations with artists such as Ray Davies, Roger McGuinn, and Johnny Cash. The current lineup is Gary Louris, Marc Perlman, Karen Grotberg, and Tim O’Reagan.

The Cactus Blossoms are brothers Jack Torrey and Page Burkum, whose close harmonies and songwriting anchor their latest album, *Every Time I Think About You*. The record expands their sound with contributions from Jeremy Hanson on drums, Jacob Hanson on guitar, and Phillip Hicks on bass, and explores themes of moving on, loss, grief, and change.
