Young Fresh Fellows w/Clem Fandango • Second show added!

Young Fresh Fellows bring their spontaneous, collaborative rock to Hank Dietle’s Tavern with Clem Fandango. The performance follows the Fellows’ more than 40-year career and centers on *Loft*, an album created during their 40th anniversary tour. The record began during an unplanned eight-hour session at Wilco’s Loft studio in Chicago, where the band developed many songs in only one or two takes. It later expanded with new arrangements and guest appearances from Neko Case, Peter Buck, and members of Wilco and The Decemberists.

The music ranges from energetic garage rock and piano ballads to jazz-influenced passages and personal songwriting. Clem Fandango, led by returning local singer-songwriter and former Zamboni driver Peter Gilstrap, performs original songs shaped by Nick Lowe, George Jones, Burt Bacharach, The Move, The Replacements, and the Beatles. The two acts also share local history: Gilstrap and Clem Fandango guitarist Scott McKnight reportedly played with the Young Fresh Fellows in Washington, D.C., in the late 1980s.
