Grouper

Grouper is the musical project of Pacific Northwest artist Liz Harris, performing songs from *Shade*, her 12th full-length album. The record gathers material written and recorded across roughly 15 years, exploring respite, coastlines, memory, loss, love, solitude, and the ways landscapes shape personal experience.

Drawing on places including the Bay Area, California’s North Coast, Portland, and Astoria, the music reflects maritime storms, mist, isolation, and the changing relationship between people and their surroundings. Harris combines voice and guitar with expansive open space, creating an atmosphere that is intimate, distant, and quietly luminous.
