JOHN HIATT
John Hiatt brings more than four decades of acclaimed songwriting and recording to the Birchmere, performing with Rachel Ann Morgan and Jonathan Sloane. Hiatt has released 26 solo albums, recorded with Little Village alongside Ry Cooder, Nick Lowe, and Jim Keltner, and written more than 400 songs recorded by artists such as Bonnie Raitt, Eric Clapton, B.B. King, Bob Dylan, and Iggy Pop. His recent work includes *Leftover Feelings*, a collaboration with Dobro player Jerry Douglas recorded at Nashville’s historic RCA Studio B.
Morgan and Sloane also perform as an intimate acoustic duo, combining Morgan’s soulful, powerful vocals with Sloane’s versatile guitar work. Their music draws from roots, Americana, blues, soul, funk, rock, and jam traditions. Morgan has performed with artists including Warren Haynes, Susan Tedeschi, Jack Pearson, Marcus King, Eric Krasno, Robert Randolph, and the Ron Holloway Band, while Sloane has worked with musicians including Amy Helm, Billy Strings, Butch Trucks, George Porter Jr., Ivan Neville, Phil Lesh, Samantha Fish, and Sonny Landreth.
