PASSION PLAYS - A FESTIVAL

Fri, Mar 6, 2026 – Sun, Apr 12, 2026
19 Dupont Circle Northwest, Washington, DC
Price not available

PASSION PLAYS - A FESTIVAL is a multi-week showcase of three newly commissioned music-theater works, each revolving around themes of passion, suffering, and redemption. Presented by IN Series, the festival runs from March through April 2026, with each of the first three weekends devoted to a different world-premiere production in Washington, D.C., and a final weekend in Baltimore. The three works—*Only the Air*, *Passio*, and *For Women Serving Time*—offer distinct musical and dramatic approaches, from a reimagined Bach passion to a polyphonic contemporary concert and a jazz-infused opera-theater piece about female incarceration. Audiences may attend individual shows or all three, and IN Series subscribers receive tickets for the entire festival.

When: March–April 2026; specific show dates: March 6–8 (Only the Air); March 13–15 (Passio); March 20–22 and April 10–12 (For Women Serving Time). Some performances are sold out; check individual show pages for availability.

Venue: Dupont Underground in Washington, D.C. (for the first three weekends) and Baltimore Theater Project in Baltimore, Maryland (for *For Women Serving Time* on April 10–12).

Tickets: Each show is ticketed separately. Tickets can be reserved online via the links provided for each production. Subscribers to IN Series have tickets included for all festival events.

Scott); *For Women Serving Time* (music by Adrienne Torf, text by Fatemeh Keshavarz, directed by Timothy Nelson, musical direction by Adrienne Torf).
